Lunnaria Annua, thread, gold leaf, soil

Installed at Out of Sight 2017

Veil is an ongoing process piece. For two years, I have gathered Lunaria plants from around the city of Seattle every fall, and sewn them into a tapestry over the course of the year, a ritual that will continue indefinitely into future years. Through this mundane ritual, I contemplate patterns of life and death, both as a literal marker of time, and through metaphorical reflections.
